Kara Tremel: From Moose Jaw to Jersey!

Kara Tremel is a nomad, who’s had no fixed address for the past four years. After joining the cast of Jersey Boys in 2007, the Moose Jaw native is getting the chance to perform in front of her home province and spend Thanksgiving at home for the first time in years.
In addition to playing Valli’s first wife Mary Delgado, and a dozen or more other roles per night, Tremel is also the show’s dance captain. When new cast members join the show, it’s her job to make sure they get all of the moves down just right. She not only knows all the females parts by heart, but the males roles as well.
“You get guys in who have to dance, play instruments and sing at the same time. Some of them are really good musicians and not very good dancers. That’s my challenge and I love taking that on,†she said. “When they get it, it’s almost more rewarding sometimes than the applause at the end of the night.â€
Growing up in Moose Jaw Tremel always wanted to be a performer.
“I wanted to be Annie when I was eight years old. I started singing the Sound of Music records when the headphones were bigger than me. Before I could even talk I knew the lyrics to the songs.â€
