Latest Celebrity to Visit Jersey Boys: Dion DiMucci!

March 20th, 2008

“Runaround Sue” rocker Dion (DiMucci) visited the boys of Jersey on March 12. The Bronx-born doo-wop, pop and R&B performer once headlined a quartet (Dion and the Belmonts) much like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Visit Broadway.com to see the music legend hanging out with the Jersey Boys cast backstage at the August Wilson Theatre.

  1. I loved Dion’s music, both before and after he split from the Belmonts. The first singles I bought were “Walk Like A Man,” Dion’s smallish hit “Sandy,” and Neil Sedaka’s smallish hit “Let’s Go Steady Again.” His work played a large role in defining the music of the era. Plus, it was well-suited for copycat amateur doo-woppers like me (you could hear my old trio doing their “I Wonder Why” if you click on my name, but I don’t necessarily recommend it – ha ha ha).

  3. I’ve only just seen the photos now but I love the way they look absolutely in awe of Dion which is of course understandable.
