July 24th, 2013Have you heard the latest JERSEY BOYS movie casting updates?
From Deadline.com: Director Clint Eastwood has set Christopher Walken to star in Jersey Boys, the Warner Bros and GK Films feature adaptation of the hit stage musical. Walken will play the role of Angelo “Gyp” DeCarlo, the Jersey mobster who, in the show, served an unofficial consigliere role to the young singers as they tried to build their careers without falling into the grip of organized crime.
Barry Livingston, who played “Ernie Douglas” in the long-running TV series “My Three Sons” has also been cast in the JB film. Here’s the scoop from Livingston’s Facebook page: Great news! Just booked a role in the film version of the hit musical, Jersey Boys. No, I will not be playing Frankie Valli. I will be playing the band’s accountant. Here’s the best part. Clint Eastwood is directing!! Another bucket list wish come true!!
Now for some trivia: Name the blockbuster movie starring Christopher Walken that featured “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” in a poignant scene.
The barroom scene in The Deerhunter.
The movie news is very exciting. I can’t wait for it come out and I know it will be awhile since it is still in pre-production.

In the Daily Mail in UK it says Ryan Molloy is having secret talks in playing the role of Frankie. He has played the role in the West End for the last 5 years. Clint Eastwood saw his screen test and was impressed also helps Frankie himself said Ryan was one of his favourites

Ryan Molloy’s audition was just perfection as is his every performance. He is the UK’s choice for the part, as is JLY with America. A difficult decision I would think for Mr Eastwood. But … Ryan Molloy looks and sounds more like Frankie Valli and having been in the London show since it began, he deserves the role and is definitely the best man for the job!

John Lloyd Young should play Frankie in the movie: He is American, of Italian descent like Frankie, and he has perfected the Jersey accent, and acting for the role.

Ryan M began his training in Newcastle receiving a drama honours degree, which took him to LA (where he perfected the American accent)and then to London. His awesome voice as well as his portrayal as Frankie is the closest to the man himself, as Mr Valli has praised and acknowledged. Good luck Ryan – still rooting for you.
