  2. I’ll be there for sure! After watching my first matinee and 7th performance yesterday, I’m curious as to who will show up. The Borders SF Q&A signing last month featured Jennifer Evans (Swing) and Rick Faugno (Frankie Alternate) from the 1st tour.

It was unusual to see the Curran Theatre not sold out yesterday, but the electricity in the air was just as exciting and seems like the applause was that of a full theatre. John Michael Dias was a perfect Frankie from his appearance, hitting the falsetto very naturally and performing flawlessly as his castmates always do.

Can’t wait for June 10, and I’ll surely share my experiences with my family that day as well!

  3. My two sons and I just came back from the “meet and greet” in Berkeley, CA with Kara Tremel (swing) and Steven Goldsmith (Joe Pesci & others).

It was extremely cool when the Jersey Boys National Tour publicist recognized us from previous Jersey Boys appearances. She filled me in on another possible SF Bay Area JB cast appearance, but I’m not sure if I can reveal the date or location, otherwise they may have to kill me…..LOL!!! Susie will probably let us all know about it when the time’s right.

This was a different setting than the SF Borders Q&A. Everything occurred outdoors, which was great, because it attracted more attention and advertised the show even better. They were seated at a table and we formed an organized line along the building’s exterior.

This time the meeting was more intimate, because we were able to have more 1:1 time with them and ask questions as we came up. We had our “JB Musical Selection Book” (swings & ensemble autographs) and Playbill to have them sign in order to complete our Jersey Boys entire cast signed Playbill collection (1st, 2nd tours & Virginia/August Wilson). We also received an autographed JB CD song sampler (new giveaway item with a cool, hip mix of the show’s songs) and signed lobby card as well.

I asked Steven and Kara about how they’re enjoying the 2nd Tour’s run, and they totally are loving it! Everyone treats each other like family, which was the same answer I received from Steve Gouveia, John Lloyd Young and Michael Ingersoll when talking to them in the past. They’re anticipating meeting the Las Vegas cast and working with them as well. Steven told me that with new casting calls going on, there will be more and more cast changes/additions occurring in the future, all casts switching members around and also the opportunity to “see the US” while meeting Jersey Boys fans, young and old.

In closing, it was another excellent public appearance of our favorite show’s cast members! We were also able to meet “Lauren” (great contributor on the Jersey Boys Blog), who I’ve had the good fortune to chat with because she’s very knowledgable about the show and a great person as well! We hope more and more fans can attend these sessions. I’m learning more and more about the “behind the scenes” goings on with Jersey Boys and if you can’t make it to the show, this is the next best thing! Thanks!

  4. Correction….. The actor at Cody’s was John Michael Coppola. My son actually thought he was Michael Goldsmith and both look closely alike in person and in the Playbill. He looked different from the times I’ve seen him outside the stage door before the performances. Whoops…..

In any case, everyone had an excellent time! Thanks again!

  5. It was excellent! Just as Mike said,it was intimate which served as and advantage to everyone who was there and really got to talk to them instead of “make it out to me and goodbye.” lol. I was really nervous meeting them because I’ve never met any theater actors before. They were so nice and really friendly! I asked them what was their favorite scene to perform. They said they really enjoy playing Mary and frankie in the pizza scene! My sister, Arlene and I got autographs for each of us and were able to take a pic w/ them. I really appreciated that we got a free autographed poster AND a free autographed sampler. I actually already had the sampler but I can’t turn down another one especially since they signed it!!! lol.

I met “Mike” and his sons at the event which was really fun! They really know what they’re talking about. Thanks guys for giving my sister and I an inside scoop! Hope to see you all again at another event (which I also found about from the promotions director. i’ll keep it quiet for now like you mike.)

They were really sweet and welcomed our questions. I can’t wait for the next JB event!!!
