Minneapolis Adores Jersey Boys National Tour!

March 21st, 2008

Critics and crowds are loving Jersey Boys in Minneapolis! Below are excerpts from two reviews!

Rohan Preston of the Star Tribune had an amazing time watching Jersey Boys. He states,

My happiness as I left the Orpheum was due in no small part to an impressive and engaging “Jersey Boys” cast that includes Christopher Kale Jones as soulful squealer Frankie Valli and Andrew Rannells as tunesmith Bob Gaudio. These singing actors, along with Steve Gouveia as Nick Massi and Erik Bates as cocksure gambler Tommy DeVito, delivered with strength, poise and stamina.

Renee Valois of the Pioneer Press had a sensational time as well watching the 2006 Best Musical Tony winner. She says,

It would take true incompetence to create a bad musical out of dozens of hit songs — but in the case of “Jersey Boys,” dramatic real-life events make the show more than just a vehicle for finger-snapping oldies. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ story is packed with the kinds of peaks and valleys that would seem fake in fiction — yet the plot is firmly based on true events…Although the cast doesn’t particularly look like the originals, they capture the group’s sound. The audience explodes on cue to emotion-pumping manipulations by director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo.

  1. I’m very excited to see the Sherry cast again in Minneapolis in just a few short weeks! I’ve told all of my friends there that they HAVE to see the show.

  2. Oh What a Night! The Jersey Boys rolled into Minneaplois this past week, we went to the Friday night show. Absolutely fantastic! CKJ was wonderful as Frankie and the cast had us believing we were back in the 1960′s all over again. If you like Frankie and Friends in the 60′s…you’ll love The Jersey Boys today! WE bought 20 tickets through group sales and found most of our friends were excited to go. We’re going to try to get tickets to see them one more time before they leave the Twin Cities! Gotta go…looking to purchase their CD online! Rag Doll oooh….
