More on Jersey Boys Heading Down Under
January 27th, 2008Reporter Stefanie Balogh of HeraldSun.com.au notes that as soon as producer Rodney Rigby saw Jersey Boys on Broadway, he knew he had to lure the hit musical Down Under.
It was December 2005 when Mr. Rigby was first blown away by the energetic smash. Two years later, he and fellow Australian producer Paul Dainty plan to bring the show to Melbourne.
Jersey Boys, the story of music legends Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, tells the captivating tale of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks evolved into one of the world’s biggest pop acts of their era.
According to Rigby, “I saw it two weeks after it opened. It was a fantastic piece of theatre that audiences literally stood up halfway through act one and stood up halfway through act two.”
The Australian production will open at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre in March, 2009 and auditions for the show will run from April to September.

Will the JB be coming to Perth, as I would like to book my seats for my 40th wedding anniversary as a surprise to my husband who is dying to see it, especially as we missed it in NY when we were there last year – I would not go as there was a lot to choose from Please let me know asap as our anniversary is on the 10th of January 2010 – thank you very much – karen

ARE THE JERSEY BOYS COMING TO PERTH.
MY WIFE AND I SAW THE SHOW IN MELBOURNE MARCH 2010 AND WE ARE STILL BLOWN AWAY.
WE BOUGHT THE CD AT THE SHOW AND HAVEN’T STOPPED PLAYING IT.
WE HAVE SEEN THE BUDDY HOLLY SHOW, COMPLETELY ELVIS, ELVIS TO THE MAX.
BUT THE JERSEY BOYS BEATS THEM ALL. IT IS THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.WE HAD SO MUCH FUN IN MELBOURNE.
IF IT COMES TO PERTH, I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
THE JERSEY BOYS WOULD BE THE BEST SHOW PERTH HAS EVER SEEN, IT WILL RUN FOR YEARS.
PLEASE FIND A WAY OF BRINGING THIS SHOW TO PERTH AND MAYBE PERTH WILL WAKE UP FROM THE DEEP SLEEP IT’S IN.

It probably will make it to Perth eventually. There will be (is?) a multi-city tour through Australia and New Zealand.

Jersey Boys will be coming to Perth sometime this year..there were auditions this morning in Perth

Auditions were held in Perth this morning 21/1/11 for Jersey Boys..so it must be happening this year..
