New Cast Members Join Jersey Boys London
February 19th, 2009Playbill.com reports that the West End production of JERSEY BOYS will celebrate its official first London birthday March 18. Two days earlier, on March 16, the company will also see several new principals joining the cast.
Mark Carroll, who takes over as Donnie/Knuckles, has played in West End productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Oliver!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Marguerite, and as a songwriter he has contributed to Ruthie Henshall’s album “Pilgrim,” which he also produced. Ashley Hale, who takes over as Lorraine, was recently in the West End productions of Guys & Dolls and Dirty Dancing and partnered with Adam Cooper on television’s “Strictly Dance Fever.” Madeleine Harland, who will play Francine, was in the Piccadilly Theatre production of Guys & Dolls and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium as well in Cats and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas on tour. James Winter, who will play Hank, recently graduated from the Guildford School of Acting, where he received the Musical Theatre Award, and will be making his West End stage debut. Also newly joining the cast will be Michelle Bishop, Ben Evans and Christopher Hunt.
