New SF Jersey Boys: Sexy, Outrageous, & Legendary!

May 25th, 2007

The new San Francisco Jersey Boys cast is wooing and wowing the critics. According to BeyondChron.com’s Buzzin Lee Hartgrave, no show is cooler!

Hartgrave enthusiastically states, “YEP, IT’S TRUE – YOU CAN’T TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OF THEM.” On the Curran Stage there is so much going on in ‘Jersey Boys’ that it keeps you busy trying to watch everything. This is my second visit to “Boys”. I decided to check it out again with the new cast. I did, and was just as ‘wowed’ as I was the first time. I was amazed at how many things I saw this time, that I didn’t see the first time. The sound was so great, that I did not miss a word. It was clear as a bell. Everything you’ve heard about this show is true – and then some. It’s sexy, outrageous and legendary.

The secret is out! This new cast is a ‘Dream Cast’ that brings incendiary energy to the stage. I couldn’t believe the lighting the first time I saw “Jersey Boys” – and I was still almost knocked out of the seat with the super effects.

Jeremy Kushnier (Tommy De Vito) is hypnotic as the mover and shaker of getting the group together. Kushnier really is the “Key” to setting up the New Jersey tone of the musical. He’s simply one of the best actors seen on the stage in years. Another actor that will stay in your mind for a long time is Drew Gehling as composer/genius Bob Gaudio who wrote many of the hit songs for the Four Seasons. Jarrod Spector is outstanding as the young Frankie Valli with the falsetto voice. The entire cast is sensationally sexy and astounding.

Here is a sample of the fabulous songs that leave images that tear at the heart – ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’, ‘Bye Bye Baby’, ‘Walk Like a Man’, ‘Earth Angel’ and about twenty-five more ‘Four Seasons’ hits. Oh, it’s so great to bask in the days when love songs were really love songs. You’ll want to see it over again. Once is just not enough.

RATING: FOUR GLASSES OF CHAMPAGNE!!!! (Highest Rating) –trademarked-
Jeremy Kushnier is a recipient of The Lee Hartgrave Fame Award for best acting – Jersey Boys.

  1. I’d rate them “five” glasses of champagne, because their chemistry is unbelievable! I watched a regular evening performance with Jarrod Spector leading the cast and then a matinee performance the following week with John Michael Dias as “Frankie Valli”. It was as if there was no difference to the two leads! Only thing different was their appearance, but the energy that each gives out, plus the casts’ energy just makes you feel much more alive when you walk outside the theatre afterwards!

Jeremy’s sense of humor and “Rodney Dangerfield” mannerisms onstage captured the audience immediately and gave us lots to smile about! Steve’s portrayal of Nick Massi was very heartfelt and played that “goofy”, “big brother-like” and “businessman” personna all in one expertly! Drew’s “Bob Gaudio” was very believable and he does kinda look like Bob back then. Both Jarrod and Michael are excellent, passionate actors and we are blessed to have them lead the production as Frankie!

Please extend them longer than Sept. 30!!!!!
