On This Date–February 20, 1965–Bye, Bye Baby by The 4 Seasons Peaked on the Billboard Hot 100! @frankievalli

On February 20, 1965, The 4 Seasons peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Bye, Bye Baby (Baby Goodbye)! Truly shocking that this amazing song (written by Bob Gaudio & Bob Crewe) didn’t top the chart! It’s always been a crowd-pleaser during the Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons’ concerts for decades, & of course, a showstopper in JERSEY BOYS!

A cover of the song by the Bay City Rollers sold a million copies and hit No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for six weeks from March 1975.

Love this video with the original Four Seasons on the ski slopes in 1965!

  1. This song is a great one and that mid 60′s look oh theirs, super cool. I can never get enough if this song especially the tail end when Frankie sings bye baby bye in that falsetto of his, you feel the utter pain/confusion as if he was really living the songs story!

I hope I didn’t go over board with my description but just love the adult content of the song. Bye Bye Baby, Baby goodby!
