Broadway.com recently caught up with Jason Kappus, JB 2nd national tour’s “Bob Gaudio” about playing the role:

“The first time I saw Jersey Boys, I saw Bob and said, ‘That’s me!’” Kappus said of his character. “Bob is tall, a piano player and probably the least Italian looking one of the four. Check, check and check. He’s also a very positive and easygoing person, which makes [the role] a good fit for me.”

Kappus doesn’t just fit well into the shoes of Bob Gaudio—he feels the whole singing group is a perfect match. “There’s a moment in ‘Cry for Me’ that gives me chills nightly. Bob has just been introduced to the group and is singing ‘Cry for Me’ as an audition. One by one, the other boys come over to join in and when we hit the second verse, everyone’s singing together for the first time, and it’s magical. It’s just the four of us around the piano, so it’s very personal.”

The JERSEY BOYS second national tour’s next stop is Pittsburgh from September 4 through September 23.
