Playing Frankie Valli–A Difficult but Dream Role for Jarrod Spector!

August 22nd, 2008

Post-Tribune Correspondent Terry Loncaric has posted a marvelous interview with Jarrod Spector, who has the difficult task in Jersey Boys of bringing to life the charismatic singer Frankie Valli, who dreamed of being the next Frank Sinatra. After breaking all box office records in New York, a touring production of Jersey Boys will complete its extended run at Chicago’s LaSalle Bank Theatre on Jan. 11.

“It’s enormously difficult, but it’s a dream role,” Spector said. “In ‘Hamlet’ you have to say lines most people know (“To be or not to be”), and you have to bring them to life. Frankie is just a monster role. It’s such a marathon workout every night. I have listened to his records to capture every nuance and permutation of his voice.”

  2. will this group “tour” anyone else? Would like to see Jarrod, Jeremy, Michael, and Drew together again. They were such a great combination. Would hate to think it is gone for good.

  3. You’re kidding, right? It’s been breaking all kinds of records in Chicago – why the heck would they leave? I’ve only seen it 7 times. We need JB here as much as we need the Olympics. Come on fans, speak your piece!
