This Sunday, August 23, JERSEY BOYS Vegas’ Frankie Valli, Rick Faugno will be debuting his one-man show, the “Songs My Idols Sang (and Danced),” at the South Point Casino! This is a production that covers his life story and how he ended up as a devotee of great music.

Jerry Fink has a terrific interview with Faugno who gives some details about his upcoming show, which is a big departure from his role in JB.

“This is totally different from anything I’ve ever done,” Faugno says.

“I’ve never just been me. I’m always somebody else. Playing Frankie Valli is a huge undertaking, but I’m playing Valli, not me. I’m almost naked onstage, vulnerable. I’m not hiding behind anyone else.

“I’m a little nervous. But at the same time this is very exciting.”

He will be accompanied by a seven-piece band featuring “Jersey Boys” musical director Keith Thompson on piano.

“We’ll have the piano, bass, guitar, drums and three horns,” Faugno says. “It’ll be a pretty rockin’ band.”

Fans from the old school of entertainment will be treated to Faugno tapping and singing with a broom, a la Astaire.

  5. We saw his sunday show and was so impressed. His take on Mr. Bo Jangles made the hair on my arms and neck stand up. I have never heard it done better. His whole show was marvelous, but that song was the best! What a showman! Hope he does more, we will comeback for more!
