Steve Gouveia To Play Nick Massi in Natl Tour

April 26th, 2007

Sunday evening, April 15th marked the last Broadway performance for Steve Gouveia, who is off to play Nick Massi on the national tour of Jersey Boys. Steve has been with JB since the beginning at La Jolla Playhouse.

John Lloyd Young mentioned on his blog that along with Steve, Jessica Worsnop from the wardrobe department, is leaving the Broadway company to be the wardrobe supervisor for the Chicago company of Jersey Boys. Cast members toasted Steve and Jessica after their last show at the Russian Samovar.

Congratulations and best wishes to Steve Gouveia and Jessica Worsnop!

  1. I was so pleased when I heard Steve would be playing Nick Massi in the Second National Tour. I saw him in that role when I was in New York, and he did an incredible job. Best of luck to Steve and the rest of the Second Tour!

  2. It’s kind of funny that the 2NT takes their first bow in less than two weeks and yet still no official announcement…it’s not like they haven’t signed their contracts yet or something. ;)

  3. Well thanks to Kathryn, who basiclly run most JB myspaces out there, and some other hardcore JB fans doing alot of searching on the internet. There is an unofficial partial cast list. Of course we’re all waiting for the official to fill up any other holes.

Here’s the myspace for the 2nd company thanks to Kathryn.

  4. Steve, continuing the “Jersey Boys” tradition of personally extending to the fans, you were kind enough to respond to my e-mail, giving me recommendations about La Jolla and San Diego, where my two major domestic clients are located. We even discussed your Dad’s having worked for both of those clients.

I wish you the very best on the tour. One request: please don’t be too tough on Bob Crewe (my fellow Staten Islander Craig Laurie); after all, he has so many great wisecracks, and does eventually record you guys!!

  5. I am excited that the tour will be staying in San Francisco through September. But I also understand that they will be beginning in Los Angeles in May. So will there be a new cast going to Los Angeles, or will the cast that is currently in San Francisco be going down there?
