Tampa Update: Jersey Boys Sets New Record!

March 12th, 2008

HeraldTribune.com states that they might want to change the lyrics to one of the songs in Jersey Boys from “Oh, what a night” to “Oh, what a run.” The musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is setting records and marking milestones before the end of its run Saturday night at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

Last Saturday, the show set a new record for the center’s Carol Morsani Hall with 2,586 patrons watching the musical. And box office revenues are setting records as well. For the week that ended March 9, “Jersey Boys” grossed $1,705,414 for a regular eight-show performance week. That topped the $1,576,137 gross in the show’s first week, and the previous record of $1,363,265 held during last year’s return engagement of Wicked. The touring production will play its 500th performance on Friday.

Check out the great picture of the guys toasting the show’s success on the Herald Tribune site!
