Taylor Sternberg’s Thoughts on JB and Acting
February 10th, 2008Lindsey Halfhill of AZTeenMagazine.com has posted an interesting interview with Jersey Boys national tour cast member Taylor Sternberg.
Making his debut in a professional theatre production, Taylor Sternberg has taken on the role as an understudy for ‘Frankie Valli’, as well as multiple other characters in the national tour of JB. As a talented actor, singer, and dancer, Sternberg stands out without a doubt on stage. Entertaining sold out audiences across the United States has provided him with not only profitable experience, but many life long friendships and a new understanding of the Broadway industry. Here’s a preview of the interview:
LH: How did you find out about Jersey Boys?
TS: I was in college at the time, a few friends of mine had seen it, and talked about it in class. And I thought “Jeez, a musical that starts with a rap number? That sounds plain crazy!” I didn’t think much of it until my classmates started saying that I would be good for the show. (And I didn’t know that the point of the rap number was to make you think “What is this?” until I really saw it. Then it made sense!)
LH: What is the most important thing that you’ve taken from this particular show?
TS: Being that this is my first professional production, I have learned extensive things about the Broadway industry, how to live life on tour, what it’s like to play to 3,000 seat houses… you name it, I learned it!
