The Shoe Must Go On-Valli Style
December 24th, 2008Some facts about the legendary Frankie Valli: You’ve had seven Number One hits on the Top Pop Singles chart, 19 Top Ten hits, over 175 million records sold, a Tony Award-winning musical about the story of you and your group, along with a Grammy Award-winning cast recording. All those other ones, the Oscars, the Emmies, whatever–you can buy that sh*t. But how do you know you’ve really made it? When a designer names a shoe after after you!
Yes, Valli now has a platform shoe named after him!
Vogue.com reports that Beatrix Ong, a London-based British luxury fashion designer, known for her classic but whimsical women’s shoes, was inspired by Frankie Valli. Valli is a strappy platform that comes in a stone or a metallic Champagne color. The shoe will be available in the spring, retailing for £498 ($735).
When you wear this shoe, you will easily be taller than Sinatra, without having to stand on a chair!
I mean, is that style or what?

Reminds me of the first time I ever saw Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons on TV in November, 1962 on the ED SULLIVAN SHOE-they had a really big SHOE that night!

I so associate November, 1962 with “Big Girls Don’t Cry” that I misquoted the date of my most memorable ED SULLIVAN SHOE. It was actually DECEMBER 9, 1962.
