How about the casually dressed 4 Seasons (Joe Long, Tommy DeVito, Bob Gaudio, and Frankie Valli) back in 1967 on the “Beggin’” 45 picture sleeve?! “Beggin’,” written by Bob Gaudio and Peggy Farina, hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March, 1967 and peaked at #16!

Nearly 40 years after its original release, “Beggin’” became an audience favorite in JERSEY BOYS, followed by the Pilooski re-edit that hit the London charts, then, the Norwegian rap group Madcon’s rap version of “Beggin’” was a chart-topper for five weeks in Norway and a big hit all over Europe, and of course, the JB OBC sang it on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” to ring in 2007! Jump up to 2008 and the song was featured in a “Mad Men” promo for the new season.

What about the B side of “Beggin,” “Dody”? Perhaps that will be featured on “Friday Flashback” tomorrow!

  1. Does anyone know what happened to “SOON (I’ll Be Home Again)”? Cannot find it on any Seasons’ anthology.

  2. Hi. It’s on the Folk-Nanny & Born to Wander CD. You can get it on Amazon. It is the 2 albums combined (2006). The Folk Nanny album has “Soon” & it is available on iTunes. You can purchase the song on iTunes for 99 cents using your Apple ID # & download it onto your iPhone, iPad or iTouch. I love that song too.
