Today in Four Seasons History: March 2, 1963

March 2nd, 2011

On March 2, 1963–forty-eight years ago today, The Four Seasons had their third chart-topper: “Walk Like A Man”! The song, co-written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio, remained in the Number One position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three straight weeks.

When asked about the inspiration for “Walk Like A Man,” here’s what Gaudio said in a recent SunSentinel.com interview, “I wrote that song for the best use of Frankie’s voice. There’s a modulation that allows Frankie’s voice to really ring. I wanted to maximize his full range.”
