From Steven Housman’s Music History Facts: July 6, 1963 – 52 Years Ago Today: The 4 Seasons debuted at No. 78 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their single, “Candy Girl (written by Larry Santos).” This was the group’s 8th chart entry and 7th under the billing of the 4 Seasons after charting one single as the Four Lovers in 1956 and it became their 6th Top 25 and 4th Top 3 when it peaked at No. 3 on August 24, 1963.
