Travis Cloer's New CD: "Setting the Standard"

Travis Cloer’s amazing new CD, “Setting the Standard” has been released! It was wonderful to chat with Travis about his thoughts and inspiration behind his latest recording project:

This new CD is a project that I’m very proud of. It’s a collection of some of my favorite jazz standards along with some other tunes that are standards in their own right. The entire project was a labor of love with me doing almost all of the work from singing, engineering, producing, designing…the whole nine yards. I had the help from a friend of mine in London with the music and instrumentation side of things. I’m working on a CD release concert in NYC to showcase some of the songs on the album and to celebrate some of the greatest American music ever written. I’ve loved this music for as long as I can remember and my vocal style has been heavily influenced by some of the greats of this genre like Torme, Bennett, Sinatra, and Connick just to name a few. It’s a great CD to relax to or enjoy over a nice dinner or glass of wine, and I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. There’s a reason these songs are called standards…

“Setting the Standard” is now available on iTunes and Rhapsody, or you can order an autographed copy for just $20 from Travis’s MySpace page.

Congratulations to Travis on this fantastic recording!

  1. Hi:

Saw “The Jersey Boy’s” this past Tuesday at the Palazzo. Found a new appreciation for the Four Seasons. Thought the perfromances were all outstanding.

Was hoping to acquire a copy of “Setting the Standard,” which appears to be even closer to my kind of music. Can this be ordered somewhere—MySpace has apparently been cancelled.

    Thanks,

    Mark (email as above)
