Ubiquitous Jersey Boys!

May 15th, 2007

Movies, TV, high school and college talent shows….I don’t want to seem–you know—ubiquitous–but Jersey Boys is popping up everywhere!!

Although I haven’t seen them personally, reliable sources have told me:

  • In “Spiderman III,” there is a very short and very faint glimpse of the Jersey Boys poster next to Sardi’s. Peter Parker’s (Spiderman) girlfriend, Mary Jane, or “MJ” is a Broadway actress and there are several scenes on the street where Sardi’s restaurant is located.
  • In the most recent episode of “The Sopranos,” Paulie’s mom has a stroke after seeing Jersey Boys!
  • High school and college talent shows featuring aspiring Jersey Boys musical numbers are all over! Check out four guys from Citrus College singing “Cry For Me.”

  1. If you haven’t already, you should sent a link to this to Daniel, since he sings it. They did a very good job too.

  3. I almost had a stroke when I saw that episode on Sunday!

That was a very interesting video, but Daniel is number-one in my book when it comes to performing that song.

  4. This one is delightful. What the guys don’t have in ability they make up for in enthusiasm. :)

  5. My nine year old came home from the new Spider Man movie and the first thing she told me was that there was a poster of JB in the background of a scene. I trained her well ;) And my husband, who has never seen the show and doesn’t understand my obsession, was quite impressed at the mention when we were watching Sopranos. Perhaps he will see it’s not just me….even the media is JB crazy. Fabulous!

  6. I saw Spiderman 3 on opening weekend and I got sooo excited when I saw the Jersey Boys poster. That was definitely the best part of the movie for me ;-)

  7. Matt Scott does a great job of this song, too! I have a strong hunch JB will be as big as “Grease” if not bigger. Am I alone on this?

  11. Do you have any more videos of this group from Citrus College? They are pretty good. Seeing the show 8 times and would only see it with John Lloyd Young – the student who sang Frank Valli’s part – impressed us. I think these guys should be given a chance. Get More Video’s

  12. Wow. What tight four part harmonies. Cameron, I don’t know how you could figure all the parts from listening to a tape. You guys are great and this performance is fun listen to. Keep it up and do more.
