Update on Bobby Spencer’s “Farm Girl in New York” Film

January 11th, 2007

Bobby Spencer has exciting news on this website! He has recently completed directing, producing, writing, and starring in his first feature film, entitled “Farm Girl in New York.” It’s about two guys who have no luck with women, so they hold a fake audition in New York City to meet hot chicks. He describes it as “Wedding Crashers meets Waiting for Guffman.”

Bobby noted that he would get on the set in the morning at 6 a.m., shoot till 6 p.m. and still do Jersey Boys at night. Although the schedule was crazy, he wanted to get the film done before the holidays and before his son was born. He and his colleagues wrapped in 23 days, a little under budget just before Thanksgiving of 2006.

In addition to reading the whole story behind “Farm Girl in New York” on Bobby’s site, you can check out an amazing photo gallery. Also, visit the “Farm Girl in New York” MySpace page.

Congratulations, Bobby!

  1. Great work, Bobby. Didn’t Clint Eastwood shoot “Million Dollar Baby” in about the same number of days? And right now, you’re tied with Peter O’Toole and Martin Scorcese in number of Oscars. Perhaps “Farm Girl in New York” will be the tiebreaker?

A hilarious film–a wonderful new baby–and a great start to 2007 for you and Jenny Lynn. Hope it’s a wonderful year, Bobby.
