Help Christian Hoff Raise Funds for Dystonia

January 30th, 2008

Christian Hoff reports on his blog that he is the national spokesperson for The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation.

Although it is not widely known, dystonia affects an estimated 500,000 people in North America alone- more than muscular dystrophy, Huntington’s disease and Lou Gehrig’s disease combined. Different forms of the disease affect the face, neck, throat, eyelids, arms, legs or torso. This devastating disease can appear in children and adults alike. There is no definitive test or diagnosis for this disease, nor is there a known cure. Dystonia is under-researched. As hundreds of thousands of adults and children suffer from symptoms related to the disease, a large majority of patients never receive a proper diagnosis.

Christian notes on his blog that something must be done to build public awareness of the disease and the need for funds for medical research. This charitable cause dramatically differs from any other medical cause because this disease is virtually unknown. In order to fight it, dystonia needs to become better known through public awareness.

We can help Christian in his quest to help build public awareness and funding for this disease by donating to Clips for a Cure, which was created by two children: Jacob and Carly, lifelong friends affected by dystonia in different ways.

Click Here to order Clips for a Cure! Clips are $5 each (minimum 5).

  3. I also donated this morning, Christian. My cousin suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, so I’ve seen the debilitation it causes first-hand. I think I speak for all the Jersey Boys fans in telling you we’re all very proud that you’re using your celebrity for such a great cause.

  4. Christian has a huge heart and he is always looking to help people who are less fortunate. It does not surprise me as Chrisitan is one of nicest and kindest people we have had the pleasure of knowing.
Thank You Christian for your continuing kindness.

    God Bless You,
    Damaris & Joe Dugan
