JB ROCKS at Box Office!

As reported earlier, Jersey Boys broke another house record at the August Wilson Theatre, grossing $1,099,413 (100.6% attendance rate) for the week ending 8/6/06!

For the week, box office grosses totaled $16,236,503 for the 24 shows on the boards.

Below are the Top 10 Grosses from Broadwayworld.com for the week ending August 6, 2006:

  3. The Color Purple $1,155,492

  1. Just curious…does the August Wilson Theatre have the same number of seats as the other shows that always seem to be ahead of JBoys in the top grosses for the week?

    Yes, the three theatres housing the other shows that top Jersey Boys’ grosses are considerably larger. Here are the numbers:
    For 8 shows per week, August Wilson Theatre (JB) has a total of 9,776 seats.

    Here are the other theatres’ total number of seats (for 8 performances per week):
    Gershwin Theatre (Wicked): 14,772
    Minskoff (Lion King): 12,784
    Broadway (The Color Purple): 13,744
