JBB Tech Update: Milestones And New Guestbook

July 1st, 2007

Jersey Boys Blog traffic graph

It has come to our attention from marvelous, appreciative fans that JBB is two years old!

Thank you for your wonderful, touching comments. Jersey Boys is a success in part because of its enormous, adoring fan base. We are happy to serve those fans and it has made the blog a wonderful adventure for myself and “The Blog Half.” It has truly become more than we could have ever imagined. Thank you!

Let me share some stats along with the anniversary. Since JBB’s inception, there have been 544,847 page loads viewed by 200,221 unique visitors. The greatest single day of traffic was June 12th, 2006 with over 1,500 visitors and 5,000 page loads. The day before, Jersey Boys won FOUR Tony Awards. The blog has grown every month its been online and we are currently averaging over 2,000 page views per day and 750 visitors. This may not seem like a lot, but you serve half a million pages and see how you handle it!

What can you do to make Jersey Boys and JBB a bigger success? Simply write about the show and link to the blog everywhere you can. If you have a website, quote the blog and link to it, and in return we will quote, and link back to you. I believe we have linked to every player that has a website. If we have overlooked anyone, please let us know, so we can link to you, and please link back to help JBB in the search results. Have a story, send it in! We have spell check so don’t be shy. How else could I have written this myself? Pictures, video what are you waiting for? This is your invitation to write a guest article that will be syndicated across the Web. We are as close as the Contact Form.

We have a birthday gift to our readers to celebrate our anniversary. What’s old is new again on the blog. I am speaking of the ubiquitous Guestbook. Slide.com, the service we use to create some of the slide shows embedded with the posts, have made it possible to have an updated version of a guest book that includes maps, and the ability to leave a message and upload photos or videos. It has been suggested by one of our greatest fans, that perhaps this would be the perfect place to share email addresses so fans can contact each other. So, please take a minute to sign the Guestbook and give a shout out to other fans like yourself.

Wait a minute! I just had an idea for a Jersey Boys social network that would be like MySpace for JB fans. Would anyone be interested?

Have a wonderful and safe Independence Day and until next time, remember to “Walk Like A Man.”

  3. Dale- I love it…”you serve half a million pages and see how you handle it!” Let me answer that- You handle it very well!

A couple questions- Where can we add our email address on the guestbook page so it is available? Can we include pictures later if we don’t have one now? Would we be able to change our message in the future?

I am certainly interested in the social network for JB fans. Honestly, Jersey Boys is the only reason that many of us are on Myspace now. (I can think of many uses for the social network- using Travis, who was nice to comment here, as an example… I want to stand in the SRO line next Sunday to see him and would like to wait with another Blog reader, although I always meet great people in line.)

Dale, thanks for all you do to make this Blog a reality and for helping Susie see that there was a niche to capture. You both have great instincts!

  4. Hi Audrey,

Use the message field to leave your email address or any other contact info, as well as any other messages. You cannot edit your submission, so you cannot add photos or change your message at a later date. However, you can add multiple messages anytime. I was just able to add a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge using the same email address I used to post the pic of Dusty and myself.

  5. Congrats on two years JBB! I’ve haven’t even been a member for two months but I look forward to much more JB to come. You’ve got a great site here! Each time there’s always something exciting to see or read. Thanks for all the effort and updates! And yes, I would totally be interested in “a Jersey Boys social network!”
