The Stars Continued to Be in Alignment in New York!

October 10th, 2008

You’d think we’d finally quit reminiscing about our amazing weekend in New York, but not just yet! Seeing Jersey Boys not once, but two phenomenal times, the JB Family Brunch, and of course, time at the stage door!

Thanks to arranging an early evening flight on Monday, September 29, the Tech Half and I had a full day to explore New York! We walked and walked all over Midtown East–and had a late lunch at Wild Ginger, a splendid Thai restaurant on East 51st Street! As much as we didn’t want to leave NYC, we headed back to our hotel for our luggage and a cab to JFK.

As we entered the hotel lobby, who did we run into? Our friends (and big, big Jersey Boys fans!) Krystal, her mom Martha, and their friend Judy! They came to NYC to see Jarrod Spector’s debut on Broadway! Who knew? Although there are hundreds of hotels in New York, the stars must have been in alignment as our last hour in New York ended on a high note with more JB friends!

  3. You could never reminisce too much! This is such fun for those of us who have had too much time in between visits. The pictures are fabulous! And the music just makes me heartsick for NYC. When I was in my early 20′s, my (now)sister-in-law and I made several trips to the city to visit her brother. Before each trip we would play New York, New York over and over again on the jukebox of our neighborhood bar – until people started throwing things at us! Ahh, memories. Thank you so much!!! (and to think in all those trips, I never saw a Broadway show – not until 20 years later when I saw JB!)

  4. This song does have a way of drawing you to NYC and what is a trip to NYC without seeing Jersey Boys at least once or maybe twice…

  6. Thank goodness the Tech Half grabbed his camera as he put on his socks when the fire alarm sounded! Now of course we are glad that you really didn’t have an inferno in your hotel…but if you had, at least you would have had these great photos! Wonderful memories with good friends. Thanks so much to both of you! Lulu

  7. Okay, this song is just so special to me and to have it on the Jersey Boys Blog is so much fun. My very first trip to NYC was during the Christmas holidays. My friend and I ended up at The View for a late night drink overlooking that fabulous skyline with the Christmas lights just making it so magical. The band started playing this song and all the couples got up to dance and then started singing with the band. I will never forget my very first night in NYC. Thanks Susie & Dale.
