Young Says Playing Singer Valli in Jersey Boys is a Privilege
November 3rd, 2005Playbill’s Wayman Wong interviews John Lloyd Young, the 30-year old actor who is making his Broadway debut playing lead singer of the Four Seasons, Frankie Valli, in the new crowd-pleasing musical, Jersey Boys.
When asked about Young’s performance, legendary singer Valli says, “John’s a fantastic performer and singer, and his falsetto is remarkably close to my own. I couldn’t be more pleased with an actor portraying me.”
In addition to telling Wong what a privilege it is to play the singer, Young talks about the great songs in the musical, his fellow cast members, and his economic struggles as an actor before his big break.
