Former JB Chicago Cast Member Michael Cunio to Produce Benefit Concert in Cambridge!

March 23rd, 2011

Reckless Place Benefit

It was great catching up recently with former JERSEY BOYS Chicago’s Tommy DeVito, Michael Cunio–who is working with his band, Reckless Place, on a fantastic benefit concert production in Cambridge, Massachusetts and he asked me to share it with JB Blog readers!

Cunio’s band, Reckless Place, is producing a concert to benefit Amnesty International, in conjunction with Prometheus Bound, a new rock musical that he is doing at the American Rep Theater in Cambridge.

Prometheus Bound is an ancient Greek tale written as an outcry against tyranny. Given all that is happening in the world today, it has taken on a shockingly relevant tone. It was translated by Steven Sater (Spring Awakening) directed by Diane Paulus (Hair) and the music was written by Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and the production is partnered with Amnesty International to help raise awareness about current prisoners of conscience.

Cunio says that he has been inspired by this production to put together this evening to benefit this incredible organization and raise awareness of it’s tireless efforts worldwide.

The event is titled “Rock. Rebel. Revolt. A Hard Rock concert to benefit Amnesty International.” It will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2011, the day after Prometheus Bound closes, at Club Oberon. Doors at 7:30 PM. For more information about the event, you can visit ClubOberon.com.
