  1. If memory serves me, this televised performance was from the Bitter End, a nite club in New York. There was as I recall an interview that took place after CTMEOY, although I forget the name of the interviewer, and Bob Gaudio joined Frankie for the interview. There was a pretty big publicity push for “To Give” which Frankie then sang after the interview. To be able to sing “To Give” in that small venue with the recorded music track was truly remarkable, but Frankie was at the height of his vocal prowess and he could do just about anything vocally at that time. Frankie also sang “To Give” on the “Joey Bishop Show” (which was ABC’s attempt to compete with the “Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson)and he sang it with a live orchestra including his own personal string section. None of these performances, however, could capture Frankie’s absolutely mangnificent singing of “To Give” live in a concert hall with the proper acoustics before 5 thousand or so people, with Bob Gaudio’s organ substituting for the string section.
