Jeremy Kushnier Is Ready for Jersey Boys in Vegas!

May 3rd, 2008

TheStar.com Theatre Critic Richard Ouzounian has a wonderful feature story about Jeremy Kushnier, the 32-year-old actor from Winnipeg who will be standing center stage when the curtain goes up this evening at The Palazzo Hotel for the Las Vegas premiere of Jersey Boys playing “bad boy” of The Four Seasons, Tommy DeVito.

Jeremy talks to Ouzounian about his professional debut at age 15, the many roles he has played over the years, his music and song writing career, and playing the lovable “bad boy” Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys.

Here’s a sneak peek of the story:
“The minute I saw it,” Jeremy sighs, “I knew I had to do anything to be a part of it.

“It’s not like most musicals. This one’s got a really great book and characters an actor can sink his teeth into.”

Even though Frankie Valli is ostensibly the show’s leading role, Kushnier wanted to be DeVito from the start.

“He has the charisma. He lights the fuse on the cannon that gets the audience shot into two hours of awesome entertainment.”

  1. I had the pleasure of seeing Jeremy the first night in April and I must say that he was just superb as Tommy (and that’s coming from someone who has been hopelessly spoiled by the talent of Christian Hoff on Broadway). He sure lit the fuse on the cannon for the audience that night. Definitely a performance that I would go out of my way to see again!

I really enjoyed reading this. As always, thanks JBB for sharing all these articles.
