November 6th, 2005

New York Times’ Jesse McKinley interviews Broadway newcomer, John Lloyd Young, who plays 60s pop icon Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, the new musical officially opening on Broadway tonight. Young talks about the awakening of his falsetto voice, his childhood, his preparation for the role, and his recent meetings and advice from Valli.

“I’m getting entrance applause,” Young says with a smile. “But it’s not really me getting entrance applause. It’s Frankie Valli. I’m just wearing his shoes.”
