Jersey Boys Comes to Omaha Next Week! Check Out Interviews with Stars Matt Bailey & Joseph Leo Bwarie!

September 3rd, 2011

Jersey Boys LogoThe JERSEY BOYS national tour company is making its Nebraska debut in Omaha beginning next Wednesday through September 25 at the Orpheum Theater. Check out what two of the actors who are playing The Four Seasons, Matt Bailey and Joseph Leo Bwarie had to say about the hit show!

Matt Bailey’s Interview with SouthwestIowaNews.com: “It’s a very realistic show,” said Bailey in a phone interview. “It’s a very funny drama.”

There are aspects of their story that the audience can relate to, said Bailey. It’s very much a drama, according to Bailey, with songs in it. While the rags-to-riches story features hit songs from the band – including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Oh, What a Night” – Bailey is quick to add that it isn’t a “jukebox musical” as some have called it.

“Every song is performed either in a bar or for the audience (as if they’re at a concert),” said Bailey.

It’s when Bailey and his co-stars are cranking out “Oh, What a Night” when the rock star atmosphere blossoms.

“People get swept away believing we really are the Four Seasons,” said Bailey.

Joseph Leo Bwarie’s Interview with JournalStar.com: He looked the part. Plus, he could replicate Valli’s falsetto — at least people who see the show believe he can.

“People say to me that when they close their eyes during the show that I sound exactly like him,” Bwarie said. “I think they are referring to the fact that I’m singing the same notes as him and that I’m dressed liked him. I’m giving them as much of the real deal as possible.”

  1. We were in the second row orchestra pit for the final show at the Ohio Theater, September 4. “Oh, What a Show”. Bwaire hit every note and was fantastic. My hat is off to Matt Bailey. His performance was best on stage. Excellent acting and dancing! He gave it his all and it made for a memorable evening. Great show! I hope to see this cast again when they come to Dayton next year.
