The JERSEY BOYS national tour will be playing Huntsville, Alabama from March 19-23 at the Von Braun Center Mark C. Smith Concert Hall!
Pat Ammons of AL.com has a marvelous preview that includes interviews with JB co-writer Rick Elice and Hayden Milanes, who plays “Frankie Valli” on the national tour.
“It’s the archetypal American story, but with the specifics of their version of that, what it costs to get to the place where you are on top and what it takes to stay there,” Elice said. The show catalogs “the stupid mistakes, the ego issues, the petty jealousies” as well as the loyalty the band members have for each other.
Playing a legend, especially a living one, is a challenge, Milanes said, and the vocal range required by the Four Seasons songbook is tough. “You have to take care of yourself and stay healthy,” Milanes said. The reaction audience have to not only the songs but the story is worth the hard work, he said.
