  1. Irene.. you put in all that time, you had a string of hits, donations rollin’ in and that’s when you tell them… it’s time for an interview. Clearly, you are officially ubiquitous. Very impressive. But then everything you do is very impressive.

  2. Audrey,

You are so sweet and very funny. I am retired but am so busy having fun that I don’t know how I ever had time to work for the last 37 years.
If you have a chance, I would love to speak with you tomorrow. Have an idea! That could be dangerous! Thanks. IE

  3. Irene, I listened to it twice. Loved the part about not being mechanically or technically oriented re listening to Podcasts. I’m with you there, Irene–I haven’t touched a screwdriver in at least 5 years and the last time my computer went awry, I needed the Geek Squad to tell me to plug it in, and $172 later, it worked perfectly!

I also am honored to be recognized by the cast in the audience. I’ve been “pinged” twice by JLY (with those wonderfully raised eyebrows and the megawatt smile) and twice by Christian with his patented finger point and wave as he leaves the stage, and it’s an indescribable thrill.

On a more serious note, this was a wonderful salute to your efforts on our October 21 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids tribute to the Jersey Boys. In a way, you remind me of John Lloyd Young, since you made a yeoman’s effort to take the bull by the horns, so to speak, in organizing and arranging this function as its CEO, and yet you are so soft spoken and kind, and credit others for helping arrange this mammoth event.

Thanks too, for honoring Susie and Dale (and yeah, I occasionally have a tough time prouncing Skarl too), because they put us all together in the first place. Without them—nothin’. Kudos to the “Blog half” and the “Tech half”.

You are a prime example, Irene of “giving to give”, not “giving to get back.” I and all the fans and the entire cast are so privileged to know you, and I am honored to be your friend.

Please, everyone, listen to this great lady talk about Jersey Boys and the great October 21 tribute that lies ahead for us. (It’s only a simple click above.) Rhonda Fleming was right–this “Big Girl” didn’t cry–she organized, arranged, and succeeded and is now becoming “a household name”. Thanks, and “Good Nite, Irene” (next CD single release, Frankie??)

  4. Howard,

You are so kind. I almost am a “Big Girl Crying” from your beautiful comments.

And, yes, all of us, cast, Susie, Dale and fans – have made this a phenomenal “experience.” IE

  5. Irene,
You know I have told you this before, One of my favorite Tina Turner songs is “Simply the Best”
and you my dear are The Best! Your like that Bunny on T.V. with the battery,”you keep going and going and going” all out for the fans to make it all possible.
I remember when I first met you in person back in July and you mentioned to me that you wanted to arrange for the fans to all get together and do something with the Jersey Boys Cast. I had said to you that would be nice but how would you get everyone from all the different parts of the world together in one room for one night? Well you proved if you really put your mind to making something happen, it could happen, it did happen and we all owe it to you and your tireless efforts.
I am looking forward to this event and so happy you made it a reality.
    We love you Irene!

  6. Irene, I’ve never met you, but you’re kind of a legend among JBBlog followers. I’ve also heard first-hand from Audrey and Howard how kind and motivated you are. I am hoping I’ll be able to attend this event although right now I have at least two scheduling conflicts. Regardless whether or not I can be there, the event sounds terrific and what a wonderful opportunity to support a charity, mingle with the JB, and meet friends from all over. Thanks in advance for all of your efforts & I hope we can meet on October 21st!

  7. Thank you, everyone, for your wonderful comments. The real tribute goes to all of you, the fans, the Jersey Boys cast and company and Susie and Dale Skarl, who have been the inspiration for all of the relationships which have developed and the philanthropic deeds which resulted. When people get together like we all have, anything is possible! The best is yet to come! This is “just too good to be true” but it is true.

I “tear up” truly when I read how we are all working together so that all of us can attend the October 21 event. People are offering their homes for fans travelling to the event, offering miles for travel – it’s unbelievable.

Can’t wait to meet everyone and to see my old “new” friends. IE
