  1. The turn-out wasn’t too good (there were tons of bracelets left), at least when I went right at the start at 4:30. The CD cast recordings were marked down to $10, so I bought a couple of them for gifts. I had one poster signed. A very quiet and fast line (nobody was there!). They maybe should have had it at the Highland store. The traffic down to West Sunset at that time of day is a nightmare, and unlike Highland, there’s no Metro stop nearby. Plus, there’s more tourists at the Kodak complex.

  2. Aww, too bad.

    Which cast members were there?

  3. A low turn-out? That would not have happened in San Francisco. What’s wrong with the L.A. fan-base? In fact, at SF’s Union Square last month, the fans’ adrenelin-driven enthusiasm was matched with some frustration as we wanted MORE MORE MORE. Frankly, the two songs they sang just wasn’t enough. But, ever so classy, we are grateful — because the truth is we can never get enough JB.

CKJ, DM, EB: Come back to SF so we can see you all over again and again and again.

  4. oh really?! i agree, margie. what’s wrong w/ those people! it’s because they’re in L.A. probably. the people there are too invested in Hollywood to care about Broadway. oy! if i was there, it wouldn’t have been quiet. =) i bet it was all four of them too. i can’t wait for them to come to Sacramento so we can show them how much northern cali loves them!

  5. I see on this site that Broadway and Frisco casts draw great crowds, but those cities are more compact and have better buses and subways, plus they like live theater more, and have many theaters that are close together. The Ahmanson is really in a different town altogether than this store (downtown LA versus Hollywood). I only went because I’m house-sitting within walking distance. You have to live in LA everyday to understand how bad the traffic is.

  6. I’m sure LA loves Jersey Boys, if not then I don’t think the show would be doing so well down there. But Joe states a valid reason why there probably wasn’t a big of a turnout as there could have been. Those are probably the 2 big things I hate about LA. The horrible traffic, and the fact that everything is so spread out that you have to drive everywhere. Both of which I can’t avoid when visit family who live in LA.

  7. Sadly, the only reason for the low turnout was the bad location and time of day that this was scheduled. Believe me…Los Angeles LOVES this show

  8. i was just kidding. i used to live in L.A. so i know what the traffic’s like. personally, nothing would’ve kept me from this event. i have family and friends who live there and enjoy theatre so i know they’re appreciated. i just wish it turned out better.
