Photo Flashback: 1974 Album Cover: The Greatest Hits of Frankie Valli and the Fabulous Four Seasons!

In 1974, the Longines Symphonette released the phenomenal 4-record set: “The Greatest Hits of Frankie Valli and the Fabulous Four Seasons”! Does anyone have this masterpiece album in their collection?

This was “the one” for me and I will never, ever forget the countless hours of joy spent playing this gem and discovering so many Four Seasons’ recordings that weren’t on the radio back in the day and weren’t readily available for sale back in the ’70s!

  1. Still have that album from back then.
    A real nice album.
    The first album I ever got and still have is the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” album from 1963.
    In fact, my older brother bought it for me as a gift for my 12th birthday in June of 1963.
    Still have all of my albums, 8 tracks, cassettes and CD’s from 1963 on.
    Some in pretty good shape, others just ok …

  3. I bought that in near mint condition from a used book and record store.

    I remember when they advertised it on TV. Just when you thought there would be no more hits…

    It was Longines Symphonette’s first collection by what could be called Rock and Roll artists, I believe. Other Seasonologists can correct me if I’m wrong about that, such as Jim or SW. I was impressed that they released it as affirmation of my tastes. Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons had arrived! Not that they hadn’t already when they released their first standard, CTMEOY, in 1967. Actually, I think they had a standard with “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”, but it wasn’t their own composition.
