Q&A With Frankie Valli In Chicago

April 20th, 2007

Frankie Valli will be performing in concert at the Chicago Theatre to a full house tomorrow night. Chicago Sun-Times reporter Miriam Di Nunzio recently chatted with the pop icon when he was in town to promote Jersey Boys. Here’s a preview of the Q&A with the original Jersey Boy:

Q. I read somewhere that Chicago was huge for you guys.

A. Chicago was very huge in terms of our career success as a group. We signed to Vee-Jay Records, [laughs] probably because it was the best deal. They heard something in “Sherry” that they must have liked because the black radio stations began playing it — a lot. And people didn’t know what we looked like or who we were. Some people thought there was a girl in the group. We got that a lot.
