Big News from Last Week: Michael Riedel of The New York Post reports that Rick Elice is working on the script for a musical about the British Invasion of the 1960s, with Hal Luftig producing!

The working title is The British Invasion Musical and it is loosely based on the experiences of Peter Noone, best known as Herman of Herman and the Hermits. Tony winner Christian Borle will be playing the character based on Noone.

Truth be told, Herman’s Hermits has always been my favorite ’60s British pop band! Can’t wait for more details and all the best to Rick on his latest creative endeavor!

  2. Thanks, Howard, for recalling one of the better songs and groups from the British Invasion. The “Bugs Of Britain”, though not without merit, were greatly overrated.
