Three JBB Fantastic Fans Get Together to See Jersey Boys!
July 24th, 2007Oh, What a Sunday Afternoon! On July 22, JBB Fantastic Fans Damaris Dugan, Irene Eizen, and Beverley Micciche got together to see Jersey Boys! Check out the great time they had at the stage door with the cast!
Wow–so many of my favorite people in one collection–one that would normally take years to assemble and not sold in stores!! Maybe a Fantastic Fan touring group could be the opening act for JB in Vegas??
Was so glad to hear you all enjoyed Travis so much. I saw him several weeks ago as Frankie, and he’s terrific.

The pictures are great! We should defintely look into getting the fans all together to see the show then take a group picture of all the fans together with JB Cast.

It was a great pleasure meeting you, Dee, and seeing you again, Beverley. What has evolved over the course of this show is unparalleled, I would think. So many beautiful relationships have developed – new friendships, a family of fans, an excitement for a show like none in my experience – thank you Susie and Dale for being the catalyst for all of this to happen. It was great seeing part of the East Coast fanbase! At least now, I’ve “seen” Howard and Irene, who are the most amazing (and visible) JB fans in this blog! Extremely knowledgable and the best source of August Wilson cast news around!
Can’t wait to add the photos from the upcoming “East meets West” in August! I’m sure it will be great, especially with Jarrod leading the cast as Frankie!

Mike, one of my most treasured experiences in the last few weeks was being recognized from the Blog by a very nice woman at the August Wilson, whom I had never met. She asked if I had lost weight recently, and I said no, but thanked her for the compliment. She didn’t miss a beat in declaring, “Well, the Blog puts at least 10 pounds on you! They’ve got to find a better photographer!”
I agree with my buddy Irene (#3 above)–the relationships formed are unparalleled thanks to the Blog. Susie and Dale–I speak for all of us in thanking you guys so much!

Mike – East MEETS West on August 16, 2007, at the Curran Theater. I CAN”T WAIT. We must take pictures to send to Susie for the Blog. Buz, my sweet husband, brilliant in his profession, has no clue any of this is happening. He doesn’t read the BLOG but always asks me to summarize what I read and write. So I am not worried about him seeing this.
Howard, we have to figure out a way to get all of us together. I still haven’t called my friend, David Cace (David, do not give up on me) but I think we need to do something soon. So many of the Jersey Boys family of fans have not met one another. These relationships are precious! Think how much better they become when the people meet each other.
So how is it I have time to read the BLOG. IT’S MY DAILY “MISSION.”

Hi Irene,
It was a real pleasure to finally meet you on Sunday after knowing you through the blog. I happen to agree with you about getting all the fans together so we can all meet. Howard, I’m looking forward to finally meeting you in September.
It is truly amazing when you think about it how the fans and the cast have come together to make this not just a show but a celebration of life and enjoyment.
All of the cast members are the nicest, most humble individuals on Broadway today. Believe me, I know because I go to Broadway alot and have met other cast members from different shows. I will tell you from experience that this cast expresses such humility and graciousness. The entire cast of Jersey Boys happen to be the nicest people on Broadway and thats why people keep going back.
Looking forward to meeting more of the JBFF’s in the near future.

Damaria, Irene & Beverly…that looked like so much fun! It was nice to see pictures of fellow fans with the cast. Damaris, I wanted to thank you for your nice, newsy response when I asked earlier about the chance of seeing the four original guys. I even looked up the JB gallery and saw a really cute picture of you and the cast, so when these pictures were posted I knew exactly who you were. Now I need some more info, please. Standing room only tickets and cancellation lines…what’s the best way to get last minute tickets? I’m going to be in NYC August 4th -11th with a youth mission trip and would love to see JB on a free evening. Any suggestions? If I do get to go, I’ll be looking for fellow JB Blog fans!

Lulu- The SRO ticket is cheaper, of course, and a guarantee if you are one of the first ten people there, so once you arrive at the theater, you KNOW if you’re in. The cancellation line, on the other hand, involves taking a bit of a chance, spending more but getting a much better view of the finale!
SRO probably requires getting there earlier and waiting in line longer, but 2 hours before showtime, you get the ticket and go… while those in the cancellation line may be waiting right up to curtain time. They didn’t start waiting four or five hours before the show starts like SRO might, though. I have seen people wait as little as 10 minutes or as long as several hours in the cancellation line- with no promises.
Everything depends on how many others want tickets that day and how early they’re willing to come. You think the stock market is hard to predict…

Audrey is absolutely correct about standing room and cancellation line. Audrey you must have done this many times??
Listen, I will tell you that in my opinion if your not busy the day you want to see the show and you really don’t mind waiting a couple of hours on cancellation line, you will get the best seat that way. I guess it also depends on if you want to stand for the entire show or be up close and sacrafice a couple hours of your time and taking the chance that something will become available on cancellation line. If it was me, I would wait in cancellation line because I like to be sitting and being comfortable enjoying the show. It’s really a matter of personal preference.

Hi Lulu,
I’ve been fortunate to see the show several times purchasing house seats at the last minute. If you don’t mind paying full price, are getting a single seat,and can be a bit flexible about the dates, you should be able to get a good seat. House seats go on sale several hrs before the show. Your best bets are Sat am, and Tues evening. Good luck! The show is fabulous and definetely worth the effort to get tickets.

I have a question about house seats. Isn’t that the same thing as going on the cancellation line for seats? How much are these house seats? Is full price considered 116.00 or 350.00? I’m a bit confused because last time I asked for house seats, they told me these are the same seats that are on cancellation line that if no one pays the 350.00 then they go to the public on line for regular price 116.00 to 127.00.
Can you please clarify for me, I do want to see the show next week but have been told there are no tickets available. My only choice would be either SRO or Cancellation line. If you could clarify for me I would greatly appreciate it!

They may have changed the policy re house seats very recently. I am unaware of house seats going for $350, only premium seats for around $275! The last time I got a ticket this way was several months ago. I went to the box office on a Friday night, around 6 pm, purchasing a ‘house seat’ for that evening. It was $111, front row center, which was amazing. I also purchased an orchestra seat for a Sunday performance, the Saturday am before, also $111. Neither time was there a ‘cancellation line’. I think the cancellation line is an actual line at each performance, but as I said, things may have changed since I last went. Hope you are able to get a ticket, soon. Let me know what happens.

Hi Pamela,
A lot has changed since you have been at the August Wilson. First there are no tickets priced at 111.00 the prices went up about 6 months ago. The regular price of a ticket is 116.00. Then there is premium tickets that start at 301.00 Mon-Thurs. 350.00 for Friday Saturday and Sunday. Premium tickets are no longer 275.00. I have been at the theatre the day before a show and they tell you only premium tickets are available. I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford 300.00 everytime I want to see Jersey Boys. So with this being said, I will try my luck on cancellation line next week and hopefully something will become available.

Thanks for the clarification. I did not realize the ticket policies and prices had changed! $350 is a ridiculous amount for a ticket, even for Jersey Boys. I’ve been very fortunate in obtaining tickets the 6 times I’ve seen the show, but may not be so lucky in the future… Hope you are able to get tickets next week. Let me know how it goes. Will this be your first time?

Hi Pamela,
You were lucky you were able to see JB as many times as you did and for the price you did. Now in 2007 and moving forward it will not be as easy to obtain tickets as JB is the hottest ticket on Broadway.
I have seen the show 2 times and this week if I get a ticket in cancellation line will be my 3rd.

Hope you were able to see the show last week. Wanted to give you an update on tickets from my end, especially in light of the recent info posted here. I swung by the August Wilson today, and was fortunate to get an orchestra seat for this Sunday, at $116. They also had single orchestra seats for tomorrow night at that price. I’m not sure if these are house seats, cancellation seats, or just regular sales, but I didn’t have to wait on line or pay a premium. Hope you had similar luck. Let me know how you made out!

WOW! Pamela, “Mercury was in Taurus” that day you lucked out and got tickets without standing in line or even paying premium prices. You were lucky.
I did end up seeing the show last Thursday by waiting in cancellation line for a while. The man at the ticket window told me there were no regular price tickets for that night available to purchase so I got on the line for cancellations. It was well worth it. It was an amazing show which I very much enjoyed!
Pamela, maybe it has alot to do with which day you go.
I did not know the box office was open on Monday when you went this week?

Glad you got to see the show last week, even if you had to wait on line.How long was the wait? Well worth itthough, right?! Yes, the stars must really be aligned when I’m at the August Wilson, as I’ve never had a problem getting a single ticket. When I’ve purchased two or more, they are much further in advance.Very lucky, indeed. I’m thrilled to be going for the 7th time, and shocked that there was a choice of days for this week!After reading the posts here about new ticket regulations, I expected to go home empty handed. The box office is open 7 days. Monday seems to be a good day to go, as there is no performance. I happened to be off from work, and had to be on the west side anyway.I hope other Jersey Boys fans have similar luck getting tickets.
