Critics are raving about the new Toronto JERSEY BOYS cast! Here’s a preview of the latest reviews:
Richard Ouzounian, The Star.com: Ouzounian gives the BOYS 4 out of 4 stars! In fact, the critic states that these Boys just keep getting better. The new, largely Canadian cast that opened Tuesday night is a knockout! There’s something exciting about watching a performer you’ve seen for a long time make that extra leap into stardom, and that’s what happens to Jeff Madden in the role of Frankie Valli. Des McAnuff’s direction remains Thunderbird-slick and Trujillo’s choreography will make you want to get on your feet and Tuneful, touching, terrific: this is the most entertaining show in town.
John Coulbourn, TorontoSun.com: But, even though many of the faces are new, make no mistake, this is still very much the same show — a blockbuster tale of four talented young guys from Jersey who managed to break into the big time with a string of pop hits that became the soundtrack of an era. If you missed it in its earlier incarnation, thanks to its iconic music and its impressive staging, Jersey Boys still offers up a memorable night of theatre.
Totally loved Jersey Boys on December 30th, my anniversary present to my husband. Can’t wait to go again! Absolutely love Jeff Madden’s voice and interpretation of Franki Valli
